COST Action
announces results of
first STSM call

The ENFiber COST Action (CA24111) announces the results of its first Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) call, marking an important step in strengthening collaboration across the network.
The call received 33 applications from researchers across 14 countries, including Türkiye, Greece, Hungary, Morocco, Algeria, Lithuania, Serbia, Tunisia, Portugal, Slovenia, Poland, and North Macedonia. This broad participation reflects the strong engagement, geographical diversity, and growing visibility of the ENFiber network.

The submitted proposals addressed key topics aligned with the objectives of the Action, including fibre valorisation, sustainable processing, and innovative applications in food and bio-based systems. The overall quality of the applications was high, resulting in a competitive evaluation process.
Following the evaluation, 12 researchers have been selected for funding. The awarded STSMs will support knowledge exchange, capacity building, and the development of new collaborations between participating institutions. These missions contribute to advancing research on sustainable fibre systems and circular approaches within the ENFiber framework.
The selected STSM participants are:
• M.H. (LT) → Host: TR
• M.C. (RS) → Host: ES
• E.G.A. (TR) → Host: PT
• A.D. (TN) → Host: PT
