Sustainability, Regulation & Commercialization

WG5 coordinates the evaluation of the environmental, economic and social sustainability of fiber extraction pathways and maps the regulatory requirements relevant to potential market applications. Through life cycle assessment (LCA), social life cycle assessment (sLCA), cost-benefit analysis and regulatory assessment, the group aims to identify opportunities, limitations, evidence gaps and conditions relevant to possible commercialization pathways. Its work supports the evaluation of whether and under what conditions selected processes and applications may align with applicable European and national requirements, market considerations and sustainability objectives.
