Crossing Socio-Political Barriers in Protein Innovation

APRISE is pleased to announce the upcoming session of its joint webinar series with ENFiber COST Action and ProxIMed.
The webinar, “Crossing Socio-Political Barriers in Protein Innovation,” will be delivered by Alessandro Monaco, Postdoctoral Researcher at the Baltic Studies Centre (Riga, Latvia), on 1 September 2026, from 09:00 to 10:00 CEST, online via Microsoft Teams.
The session will explore how political discourse in the EU frames alternative proteins as unnatural or risky, and how incumbent actors within the food system influence societal and political debates and shape the regulatory landscape.
It will also examine the relationship between societal discourse and policymaking, and how this dynamic affects innovation in the EU food sector.
