Webinar: “Insects for Food, Feed and Beyond: Circular Economy in Practice”
ENFiber, together with the APRISE and ProxIMed projects, is pleased to invite you to the first session of a joint webinar series on alternative proteins, novel foods and sustainable food systems.
The webinar, “Insects for Food, Feed and Beyond: Circular Economy in Practice,” will be delivered by Prof. Christos Athanassiou from the University of Thessaly.
Insect farming is currently one of the fastest-developing livestock production systems. The European Union has played a leading role in developing its regulatory framework and basic infrastructure, while the sector is also expanding rapidly across North America and parts of Asia.
Initially focused primarily on food and feed, insect farming now covers a growing range of applications, including the production of fertilisers, plant protection products and other circular-economy solutions.
The webinar will consist of a 40-minute presentation followed by a short Q&A.
