(78% cross-WG overlap)

The ENFiber D2 deliverable presents the Action’s Infrastructure & Expertise Database, compiled from a survey of Action participants. It documents the laboratory and pilot-scale infrastructure, key technical expertise, available equipment and preferred research contributions of 160 researchers from 40 countries across the seven Working Groups. The database is designed to support collaboration, matchmaking between partners, Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs), joint publications and coordinated experimental work.

Key Highlights

  1. Technical Capabilities: Covers fiber extraction, characterization, encapsulation, electrospinning, fermentation, pilot-scale processing, and emerging technologies (PEF, ultrasound, pulsed light, NMR relaxometry, and LCA modeling).
  2. Shared Equipment Catalog: Maps access to HPLC, GC-MS, FTIR, UV-Vis, freeze-dryers, electrospinning units, texture analyzers, rheometers, automatic fiber analyzers, and pilot-scale reactors across partner institutions.
  3. Strong Interdisciplinary Overlap: 78% of contributors (125 of 160 researchers) participate in multiple Working Groups, with the strongest collaboration bridge between WG2 and WG3 (57 shared members).
