Commitment to accessibility

ENFiber is committed to making its website accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We aim to provide an inclusive digital experience for researchers, industry representatives, policymakers, students, early-career professionals and members of the public participating in or interested in COST Action CA24111.

Accessibility approach

We are working to improve the accessibility and usability of this website in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines explain how digital content can be made more accessible to people with a wide range of abilities and assistive technology needs. Our accessibility efforts include:

  • Using clear headings and a consistent page structure.
  • Providing meaningful alternative text for informative images.
  • Supporting keyboard navigation wherever possible.
  • Maintaining readable text, adequate colour contrast and responsive layouts.
  • Using descriptive link text rather than unclear instructions.
  • Reviewing documents, forms and multimedia content for accessibility.
  • Presenting essential information in a clear and understandable manner.

Conformance status

The ENFiber website has not yet undergone a complete independent accessibility audit. We therefore do not currently claim full conformity with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Accessibility is being reviewed and improved as the website and its content continue to develop.

Known and potential limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. This may include:

  • Older PDF files or documents that were not originally produced in an accessible format.
  • Images in legacy content that may have incomplete alternative text.
  • Videos for which captions, transcripts or audio descriptions are not yet available.
  • Third-party services, embedded content or external platforms that are not fully controlled by ENFiber.
  • Content supplied by external contributors in formats that require further accessibility review.

We will work to address identified problems progressively. Where immediate correction is not possible, we will try to provide the information in an accessible alternative format upon request.

Third-party content

This website may link to or embed services operated by other organisations, including COST Association platforms, Google services and social media platforms. ENFiber cannot guarantee the accessibility of external websites or services but will endeavour to provide accessible alternatives for essential Action information when reasonably possible.

Embedded Google Maps content is blocked until the relevant consent is provided. Essential event and venue information is presented separately in text wherever possible. If you cannot access particular location information or another third-party resource, please contact us so that we can provide an accessible alternative where reasonably possible.

Feedback and contact

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of the ENFiber website. If you experience an accessibility problem, cannot access particular content or require information in an alternative format, please contact us via enfiber@metu.edu.tr

Please describe the page or content concerned and the accessibility problem you encountered. We will review your request and aim to respond within a reasonable period.
